CESI recently participated in the high-level UNDP-MASE (Italian Ministry of Environment and Energy Security) workshop “Stable Grid in Uganda: Opportunities for the Private Sector,” held on May 19, 2026, at the UNDP Rome Centre.
Organized under the Energy for Growth for Mission Innovation program, the event gathered key public and private stakeholders to shape a pioneering pilot project introducing Uganda’s first Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). The official UNDP tender is scheduled for publication in Q1 2027.
Represented by Alessio Cipullo (Head of Italy and EU Public Affairs) and Silvia Corigliano (Project Manager), CESI shared its extensive international expertise to guide the initiative. During the technical discussions, CESI emphasized three critical pillars for the upcoming tender:
