On 12 May, our President Guido Bortoni chaired a roundtable during the conference “Energy and the Crisis in the Middle East: From Immediate Challenges to Lessons for Italy’s Future Energy Policy” that took place at the Auditorium of the Gestore dei Servizi Energetici (GSE), organized by the Italian Association of Energy Economists (AIEE).
The event gathered institutional and industry representatives to discuss how geopolitical instability is reshaping energy security, prices, and long-term strategic choices.
Opening remarks were delivered by Vito Pastore, Director of External Relations and Strategic Planning at GSE, and Fulvio Fontini, Acting President of AIEE, who highlighted the structural impact of global crises on energy systems and investment decisions.
The closing institutional intervention was provided by Gilberto Pichetto Fratin, Italy’s Minister of Environment and Energy Security (MASE).
On this occasion, Jarrod Agen, Deputy Assistant to the President of the United States and Executive Director of the National Council for “Energy Dominance,” addressed the participants via a video message.
