Matteo Codazzi
Chief Executive Officer
Matteo Codazzi was appointed Chief Executive Officer of CESI in May 2009. Prior to this, Mr. Codazzi served as CEO and Country Manager of Enel in Romania since 2006. With 1 billion euros in revenues and 5000 employees in power plants and distribution networks, Enel Romania was the largest foreign owned utility in the country. After joining Enel in 1999, Mr. Codazzi held several positions within the group including Senior Executive Vice President of the Italian Electricity Market Business (which supplies electricity to 28 million customers), Chief Financial Officer of the Market division, Head of Regulatory and Business Development of the Distribution division, and Head of Business Development for Enel’s three Generation companies (“Gencos”). He started his career in 1990 at Finmeccanica (the Italian Power, Defence and Aerospace Company) holding various positions in power components manufacturer Ansaldo, in defence contractor Alenia and in the Corporate M&A and Finance areas. Mr. Codazzi graduated with honors from the LUISS University in Rome with a MS in Economics and Business and is an alumnus of the Colombia Business School in New York, having completed its prestigious Senior Executive Advanced Management Program. In 2009 Matteo Codazzi was appointed “Knight” by the President of the Italian Republic.
Gianluca Marini
Consulting, Solutions & Services Division Director and ad interim Engineering & Environment Division Director – ISMES
Gianluca Marini is Director of Consulting Division at CESI SpA, member of the Board of Director of ISTEDIL SpA, an Italian company acquired in 2016 by CESI, and Chairman of Enernex, a CESI US-based company. Prior to joining CESI, he also worked for Accenture, Enel and KME. Gianluca holds a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Trieste (Italy) and a MBA from the Bocconi School of Management of Milan (Italy).
Domenico Villani
Testing & Certification Division Director
Domenico Villani is currently Testing & Certification Director at CESI and CEO of IPH GmbH Berlin and FGH E&T Mannheim Germany. He is also member of the Board of Directors of CESI USA Inc and Vice President of CIGRE Italy and Board Member of CEI Italy (IEC Italian mirror). Previously, he worked for international groups like Siemens, VATech, Schneider Electric as Service Director and Production Director. Domenico holds a Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering from Polytechnic School of Milan and an Executive Master in Technology and Business Administration from MIP School of Milan. He is married with three children.
Federico Marchini
Human Resources Department & Quality, Safety & Environment, Facility Management Department Director
Federico is Director of Human Resources, QHSE and General Services at CESI since July 2017. Federico gained strong experience in fast paced, complex multinational companies, holding HR positions of increasing complexity up to full responsibility of the HR Department. Before joining CESI, Federico served as Head of HR holding the following positions: HR Manager Italy Business Unit in the Coca-Cola Company, Italy HR Director in Compass Group and Group HR Director in Sacchi Elettroforniture. He holds a Master of Science degree in Business Administration from the Bocconi University in Milan (Italy).
Marcello Biroli
Administration, Finance, Control, I&CT Department Director
Marcello Biroli took the role of Chief Financial Officer of CESI in 2008, and he is responsible for the Administration, Finance, Control and I&CT department. Prior to this, he covered for six years the position of Chief Financial Officer at Honeywell Italy for the Automation Division. He started his professional career in 1995 as intern in Andersen Consulting then in 1996 as Junior Controller in TotalFina and subsequently in 1998 as Controller in Atos Origin. Marcello graduated with honors in Business Economics from the University of Pavia, followed numerous Manager Development Program held by the Honeywell Learning Center in US and EMEA and he is Six Sigma certified. He’s married with children and keen on sports, having spent many years in the Skating and Hockey Italian Federation as an athlete of the Italian team and then as a coach.
Giuseppe Mori
Procurement Department Director
Giuseppe Mori took the role of Chief of Procurement Officer at CESI in February 2010. Previously, he worked in Enel SpA, in Generation facilities and as Purchasing and Services Manager for Elettrogen. After Enel, Giuseppe was in charge of Procurement Operation for the Italian Market Unit of EON and Head of Procurement of Endesa Italia SA. He graduated in Electrical Engineering in 1986.
Manuela Mancini
Legal Department, Corporate Secretary & Intellectual Property Director
Manuela Mancini took the role of Legal Department Director of CESI in 2007, she is currently responsible for the Group Legal, Intellectual Property, Corporate Secretary department and she is Secretary of CESI Board of Directors. She started her professional career in 2001 as in – house lawyer in the Legal Department of the broadcasting company Mediaset S.p.A., then in 2006 she joined Santa Maria Law firm, in the M&A and Corporate Department. Manuela graduated with laude in Law in the University of Naples and is admitted to the Italian Bar since 2004. She followed in Milan the Bocconi University - Master Course in Corporate and M&A. She is married with 1 child.
Daniela Losito
Audit Department Director
Since September 2010 she has been CESI’s Internal Audit Director. She is also currently member of the Supervisory Board both of CESI S.p.A. and ISTEDIL S.p.A. She joined CESI in 2007 when she was appointed Purchasing and General Services Manager. Daniela began her professional career in 2002 in Enelpower, at Procurement Department. She holds a degree in Business Administration and Management from Milan University “Cattolica del Sacro Cuore”.
Paolo Chighine
External Relations Director
Paolo Chighine has been Director of External Relations of CESI since 2016, where he designs and manages communication and public affairs worldwide. He has 20+ years of experience gained in managerial positions for multinationals, international research centers and consultancy companies. In Enel, he was chief e-learning editor and then responsible for communication in Russia and external relations in Romania. He held courses and seminars in several universities. Paolo graduated with full marks in Communication Sciences from the University of Rome “La Sapienza”. In 2010, he was appointed “Knight” by the President of the Italian Republic.
Rainer Schiller
Head of Global Testing Operations
Since 2011 Rainer Schiller has been Director of Testing Operations at CESI, where he is responsible for the global testing operations activities. In 2004, he joined the management of IPH and accompanied the acquisition by CESI in 2005. In 2009, he became Managing Director of IPH. Rainer is involved in various committees, among others he is member of the advisory board of the German Accreditation Body (DAkkS) and member of the advisory council department 1 Electrical Engineering at HTW Berlin (University of Applied Sciences). He has a degree in electrical engineering and a degree in industrial engineering & management.
Floris Hendrikus Schulze
CESI Middle East Managing Director
Since January 2012 Floris Schulze has been Managing Director CESI Middle East and since 2018 Chief Operations Officer CESI | GEPL. Previously, he had worked as General Manager KEMA Middle East, Manager Technical Operational Services KEMA Netherlands BV, Principal Consultant KEMA Consulting Netherlands and Manager Hydro & Energy Informatics Witteveen+Bos Consulting Engineers. Floris holds an Advanced University Degree in System Science Engineering, Applied Mathematics and Management. He carried out also an advanced post graduate research on self-learning artificial intelligent forecasting models applied on Energy- and Hydro-Informatics receiving several awards.
Francesco Rizzo
CESI do Brasil Managing Director
Francesco Rizzo since 2018 has been General Manager of the CESI branch in Brazil. He studied Industrial Technology at Politecnico of Milan. He has been working in CESI from 1986, initially in Laboratory department, then in consultancy activity, taking care mainly of automation in power generation and transmission. He has been the head of the automation unit and from 2008 Area Manager for Latin America and Africa.
