Matteo Codazzi was appointed Group Chief Executive Officer of CESI in May 2009. Prior to this, Mr. Codazzi served as CEO and Country Manager of Enel in Romania since 2006. With 1 billion euros in revenues and 5000 employees in power plants and distribution networks, Enel Romania was the largest foreign owned utility in the country. After joining Enel in 1999, Mr. Codazzi held several positions within the group including Senior Executive Vice President of the Italian Electricity Market Business (which supplies electricity to 28 million customers), Chief Financial Officer of the Market division, Head of Regulatory and Business Development of the Distribution division, and Head of Business Development for Enel’s three Generation companies (“Gencos”). He started his career in 1990 at Finmeccanica (the Italian Power, Defence and Aerospace Company) holding various positions in power components manufacturer Ansaldo, in defence contractor Alenia and in the Corporate M&A and Finance areas. Mr. Codazzi graduated with honors from the LUISS University in Rome with a MS in Economics and Business and is an alumnus of the Colombia Business School in New York, having completed its prestigious Senior Executive Advanced Management Program. In 2009 Matteo Codazzi was appointed “Knight” by the President of the Italian Republic.
