The siting of industrial infrastructure, such as power plants and electricity cables, in marine-coastal areas requires an environmental impact assessment of the relevant coastal sites and marine areas; this is done through desktop research and feasibility studies of the proposed location of the plant, the optimal laying route and the best connection protection techniques.
The production of waste and by-products needs to be assessed to ensure they are treated appropriately, while some kinds of fuel must be assessed to evaluate their environmental impacts.
CESI’s services include:
- Desktop study and feasibility studies of marine or coastal sites to identify possible locations of industrial infrastructure (power plants, electricity cables)
- Assessment of by-products and waste to identify how it should be disposed of or recycled
- Assessment of coal and biomass to identify their environmental impacts and energy potential
