On 4 March 2026, CESI took part as a speaker in a high‑level meeting organized by the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), the Mattei Plan Mission Structure, and Confindustria Assafrica & Mediterraneo. The event, held in Rome, featured the participation of the President of the African Development Bank Group (AfDB), Sidi Ould Tah, and brought together Italian institutions and private-sector representatives to explore opportunities for strengthened cooperation within ongoing Italy–AfDB initiatives.
During the meeting, CESI highlighted the strategic importance of modern and resilient power infrastructures in enabling sustainable development across the African continent. The company highlighted that investment in regional interconnections and transmission networks is essential to unlocking affordable electricity, improving system resilience, and supporting cross-border power trade.
CESI also emphasized that the rapid expansion of renewable energy in Africa must be accompanied by targeted grid reinforcement and the deployment of flexibility solutions and storage systems. These elements are crucial to managing variability, avoiding curtailment, and ensuring that new renewable projects can be integrated efficiently and reliably. The company noted the growing relevance of automation and digital technologies in enhancing network performance, reducing losses, and strengthening operational reliability.
CESI underlined that closer collaboration among financial institutions, governments, and industry players is fundamental to accelerating the development of critical infrastructure and supporting Africa’s economic integration.
With its long-standing experience, engineering expertise, and established presence in the region, CESI remains committed to supporting public and private partners in the design and implementation of modern, sustainable, and interconnected energy systems across Africa.
