DUBAI, Jan 29, 2026 — During the official state visit of Sergio Mattarella, President of the Italian Republic, to the United Arab Emirates, representatives of the Italian business community met the President in Dubai.
On the occasion, Pierluigi Vicini, Managing Director of CESI in the Middle East, met President Mattarella after being introduced by the Italian Ambassador to the UAE, Lorenzo Fanara. Vicini outlined CESI’s role in strategic energy infrastructure studies in the region and highlighted the support provided by the Italian Embassy to Italian institutions and companies operating abroad.
President Mattarella expressed his appreciation for CESI’s commitment, noting the growing strategic importance of energy-related issues for Italy’s economic and strategic outlook, particularly in the context of international cooperation on energy systems and sustainability.
The state visit, which took place from January 27 to 29, aimed to strengthen cooperation between Italy and the UAE across trade, investment, and innovation. It also reaffirmed Italy’s engagement in the Gulf region and the role of Italian companies, such as CESI, in key sectors including infrastructure, energy, and technology.
