On March 12, 2026, CESI played a pivotal role in the “Public-Private Dialogue on Energy in Mozambique” hosted at the GSE offices in Rome. Organized by the RES4Africa Foundation and UNECA in collaboration with the Mozambican regulator ARENE, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Enel Foundation, the dialogue addressed critical strategies to unlock the nation’s vast renewable potential through transparent and predictable regulatory frameworks. Representing CESI, Alessio Cipullo joined industry leaders to highlight how technical excellence and strategic advisory are vital to achieving Mozambique’s goal of universal electrification by 2030.
CESI’s contribution to the country’s energy transition centers on two flagship projects: the modernization of the National Control Centre (NCC) and the Integrated Electricity Master Plan with a 2045 horizon. Serving as Owner’s Engineer for the NCC, CESI is supervising the deployment of advanced digital platforms to centralize grid operations and enhance real-time reliability. Simultaneously, the Master Plan provides a robust least-cost roadmap for generation and transmission development, facilitating the large-scale integration of solar and wind resources while positioning Mozambique as a sustainable energy hub for the Southern African region.
These initiatives underscore the importance of combining state-of-the-art engineering with bankable Power Purchase Agreements and coordinated investment frameworks to mobilize private capital.
By leveraging global expertise and extensive experience across the African continent, CESI continues to support Electricidade de Moçambique (EDM) in building a resilient, digitized, and inclusive power system.
