Successful Rotor Replacement Through Team Coordination

Successful Rotor Replacement Through Team Coordination
23 . Jul . 2025

In recent months, a complex rotor replacement was successfully completed thanks to the coordinated efforts of multiple company sites and functions across Europe and the United States.

Following a technical issue at the Chalfont facility, a decision was made to replace the affected rotor with an identical component available at our Arnhem site. This required a full review of the operational planning in Arnhem to ensure continuity of activities while releasing the rotor for shipment.

The project involved the rapid organization of transport for a 52-ton, 10-meter-long rotor—an operation requiring meticulous planning, international logistics, and regulatory management. Within just a few weeks, the rotor was successfully shipped overseas.

Installation activities at the Chalfont facility were carried out with remote technical support, live inspections, and virtual training sessions to ensure a smooth restart of operations.

The collaboration extended beyond this single intervention. Teams also worked together on another generator issue in Italy, conducting diagnostics and managing the removal and servicing of the component in coordination with our technical partner ABB. Throughout the process, several corporate functions—engineering, logistics, maintenance, and project coordination—were actively involved to ensure seamless execution. This successful operation highlights the strength of cross-functional collaboration, operational agility, and technical excellence within our organization
