COP29: CESI Participates in Event on Clean Hydrogen Economy

On November 13, 2024, CESI CEO Nicola Melchiotti joined key stakeholders at the COP29 Side Event, “Enabling the Clean Hydrogen Economy & Developing New Supply Chains,” co-hosted by IRENA. This session highlighted hydrogen’s critical role in achieving net-zero emissions, particularly for challenging sectors like iron and steel, long-haul transport, and chemicals, while supporting SDG7 energy goals.

The event marked the launch of the recent Hydrogen Declaration by Azerbaijan’s COP29 Presidency, which calls for global collaboration to meet Paris Agreement commitments. The Declaration advocates for global standards in hydrogen certification, increased demand, and the integration of renewable hydrogen into national climate strategies.
