After the success of 2013 in Uzbekistan, CESI has been further selected by the company Uzbekenergo to provide specialist support as technical advisor to the project development of massive installation of digital meters. This new contract is integrated into a national project framework which involves the complete replacement of more than 5 million traditional metering in the distribution network with new smart meters .
The complete smart metering installation project is expected to be finalized in 2018, it will reduce operating costs and energy losses meanwhile promoting advanced services to the end customers.
The metering infrastructure is financed by World Bank, includes the installation of more than 1.3 Million smart meters for residential and industrial customers in three regions of the country including the capital, Tashkent. This first step is followed by two other similar projects funded by ADB and Islamic Bank of Development, for a total value of around 1 billion dollars investment.
CESI confirmed its leadership in the sector by winning the contract against the leading technical consulting companies active in the Digital Metering, from Germany, UK, Korea and India. CESI already developed smart metering projects in Italy, Spain, Serbia, Montenegro, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and in South America. Once again, the proposal have been considered the best from a technical standpoint. The success keys of such results are the CESI’s references joined with the selected project team.
