CESI has been appointed as a consulting partner to update the feasibility study for a key Extra High Voltage (EHV) interconnection project between Sudan and Ethiopia.
The project, commissioned by the Eastern Africa Power Pool (EAPP), aims to conduct a comprehensive technical and economic feasibility assessment for a 500 kV interconnection between the two countries. This initiative involves reviewing the existing feasibility study conducted in 2016-2017 and identifying the optimal technical, economic, and financial solution for the project.
The beneficiaries of this significant endeavor are Sudanese SETCO and Ethiopian EEP utilities. By enabling stronger energy cooperation and integration between the two nations, the project represents a crucial step toward enhancing regional energy exchange and power reliability in Eastern Africa. At CESI, we remain committed to powering progress and fostering sustainable energy solutions globally.
