KEMA Consulting to Provide HVDC Engineering for TenneT’s Offshore Grid Expansion

KEMA Consulting, part of CESI Group, has been selected as the main consultancy provider under a framework agreement, with a contract value of up to €7 million, to support TenneT’s offshore grid expansion in the Netherlands. This agreement is key to connecting offshore wind farms to the national grid, advancing sustainable energy solutions.

KEMA will provide engineering support for high-voltage direct current (HVDC) converter stations, with a focus on System Studies & Testing for safety and reliability, and Design & Installation of necessary onshore and offshore infrastructure. This agreement is part of TenneT’s plan to connect multiple offshore wind farms by 2031, boosting Europe’s renewable energy supply.

KEMA Consulting has a strong track record, including network congestion solutions using GRARE, a tool developed for Terna, Italy’s transmission system operator.

With this agreement, CESI Group, through KEMA, solidifies its role in the energy transition, driving the development of clean, sustainable energy grids for the future.
