On May 7, a workshop presenting the ITCOLD Working Group Bulletin “Seismic Behavior of Dams: Case Histories from Other Countries” was held at Sapienza University of Rome.
The event highlighted the outcomes of the activities carried out by the ITCOLD Working Group, with a particular focus on embankment dams and international case studies related to seismic performance.
Among the speakers were Riccardo Previtali and Giacomo Farronato from CESI Group, who shared their expertise and professional insights on dam safety and seismic risk assessment.
The workshop provided a valuable opportunity for discussion, knowledge sharing and professional exchange between speakers and attendees, contributing to a broader awareness of safety issues related to hydraulic structures.
The seminar was also attended by Professor Martin Wieland, Chairman of the Committee on Seismic Aspects of Dam Design of the International Commission on Large Dams (ICOLD), further underlining the international relevance of the initiative.
