Smart Grid 2025: CESI’s Take

We were pleased to take part in the Smart Grid Forum 2025, a leading event dedicated to the future of smart grids. The forum offered a valuable opportunity for industry stakeholders to exchange views on the latest challenges and innovations shaping the energy landscape.

Our colleague Giampiero Montagna, Head of Digital Innovation, presented a paper titled “Leveraging IEC 62351 to Identify Emerging Threats, Enforce Security-by-Design, and Ensure a Comprehensive Defense-in-Depth Approach to Protecting Digital Substations.” His presentation emphasized the importance of cybersecurity in digital substations and demonstrated how the IEC 62351 standard can support a structured, defense-in-depth strategy to protect critical infrastructure and enhance grid resilience.

In addition, our colleague Riccardo Maria Seresini, Senior Consultant and PM, chaired the OT Cybersecurity Conference Track, further contributing to the discussion on securing operational technology in the energy sector.
