KEMA Labs Becomes OIML Issuing Authority and approved Test Laboratory

KEMA Labs has officially become an OIML Issuing Authority and approved Test Laboratory, strengthening our role as a trusted partner in legal metrology and global market access.

The International Organisation for Legal Metrology (OIML) is an intergovernmental organization that develops international standards and related documents to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and global harmonization of measuring instruments. One of its key recommendations, OIML R46, sets the international requirements for active electrical energy meters. This certification is essential for manufacturers aiming to obtain official approval, especially outside Europe (for example , the Asia-Pacific and Latin America).

As an OIML Issuing Authority and approved Test Laboratory, KEMA Labs is now fully authorized to issue both:

• OIML Certificates under our ISO/IEC 17065 accreditation (product certification), and
• OIML Type Evaluation Reports under our ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation (testing and calibration laboratories).
