CESI Supports NamPower in Developing Namibia’s Integrated Resources Plan

Since 2021, CESI has been providing consultancy services to NamPower, Namibia’s national electric utility, for the development of an Integrated Resources Plan (IRP). This strategic initiative aims to guide investments in existing and future transmission and generation infrastructure, energy sales, and demand management options over the next 30 years.

A key objective of the IRP is to ensure flexibility in responding to market uncertainties while securing a reliable, secure, and accessible energy supply. As Namibia undergoes a significant energy transition, with increasing shares of renewable energy and distributed resources, the IRP will play a crucial role in shaping the country’s energy future.

Additionally, the IRP will assess and refine transmission, generation, and electrification plans, providing a clear roadmap with actionable short-, medium-, and long-term strategies. Through this collaboration, CESI is contributing its expertise to support NamPower in developing a sustainable, resilient, and forward-looking energy framework for Namibia.
