CESI Expands: New Solar Cell Line & CESI Space Division

Today marks a historic milestone for CESI: the inauguration of our new solar cell production line for space applications in our Milan laboratories and the official launch of our new CESI Space division, entirely dedicated to the space sector.

With an investment of over €20 million, we are significantly expanding our production capacity, leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as new evaporators and the advanced MOCVD reactor for semiconductor growth.

CESI is one of only four companies worldwide producing solar cells for civil space applications—and the only one under full European control. With over 200,000 solar cells produced for more than 100 satellites, we continue to push the boundaries of innovation, aiming for next-generation four-junction solutions with efficiencies exceeding 30%. CESI space solar cells use is exclusively civil and commercial, and for European clients.
