CESI CEO at Affari&Finanza event: Powering the Future of Energy

At the recent Affari&Finanza event by La Repubblica — Italy’s second most-read newspaper — our CEO, Nicola Melchiotti, explored the crucial role of technological innovation in the electricity sector.

He emphasized that technological progress in the electricity sector is driven by a global ecosystem of companies, with CESI at the forefront of designing and testing next-generation solutions. Among the key advancements, he underscored the importance of high-voltage direct current (HVDC) cables, which enable efficient long-distance energy transmission, and digitalization, which enhances grid flexibility.

Yet, resilience remains the foundation of a reliable energy system. Melchiotti stressed that modern grids must be designed with flexibility and high-quality components to withstand evolving challenges. He also pointed to the critical role of green corridors in interconnecting energy markets, stating: “Every day, we design and test networks that not only transport energy but connect worlds. Because the energy of tomorrow is interconnected and sustainable, and we are proud to be part of this transformation.”

With Italy and Europe already investing heavily in grid resilience, the path to a more secure, efficient, and sustainable energy future is well underway.
