Our group has recently finalized an agreement for a significant project entitled “International Consultancy Services for Feasibility Study, Detailed Planning & Design of Smart/Advance Distribution Network Including Upgradation of Existing Distribution Network and Formulation of Project(s) and System Development under Four Distribution Zones of BPDB for Three (03) Years.”
The signing ceremony took place at BPDB’s headquarters in Mukti Hall and was graced by notable figures, including H.E. Nasrul Hamid, the State Minister for Power, Energy, & Resources; Mr. Habibur Rahman, Senior Secretary, Power Division; Mr. Md. Mahbubur Rahman, Chairman BPDB, and the Senior Secretary of the Power Division. Highlighting the project’s global significance, H.E. Antonio Alessandro, the Italian Ambassador to Bangladesh, was also in attendance. Francesco Comito, representing CESI, signed the agreement during the event.
The primary goal of this project is to modernize BPDB’s distribution network across four key regions: Chattogram, Mymensingh, Sylhet, and Cumilla. The aim is to establish a Smart Grid infrastructure, enhancing network resilience and efficiency. This endeavor includes measures to reduce disruptions and losses, boost automation and control, and fortify overall system security. It signifies a deeper collaboration between Italy and Bangladesh, strengthening bilateral relations.
