In the ambit of the GIZ-funded Project APSTII “Up-scaling private sector investments in renewable energy in Tunisia,” CESI has recently been chosen, following a competitive procurement process, to provide consultancy services for the renewal of Tunisia’s national SCADA/Energy Management System (EMS).

The Kick-off Meeting took place on March 7th in Tunis, with key stakeholders including the primary beneficiary, public utility STEG (Société Tunisienne de l’Electricité et du Gaz), the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Energy (MIME), the project coordinator and funder GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit), and representatives from the German development bank KfW (Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau). Additionally, external guests from the Italian Embassy in Tunisia and the Italian TSO Terna were in attendance.

CESI, represented by Simone Pasquini, Area Manager Africa, Aldo Curtoni, Product Leader Automation & SCADA Systems, and Antonio Carrano, Dispatching Expert, leads a consortium responsible for conducting a comprehensive technical study and preparing technical specifications for the renovation of the Electrical System Control Centre of Tunisia’s transmission network.

The project aims to facilitate the integration of renewable energies by introducing complementary tools to traditional SCADA/EMS systems and presenting STEG with the latest EMS/SCADA technologies, offering a comprehensive overview of recent advancements.
