CESI at Ecomondo 2024

CESI is thrilled to be a key participant in the 27th edition of Ecomondo, Europe’s premier gathering for environmental innovation, held from November 5–8, 2024, in Rimini. This year’s event, organized with the support of Italy’s Ministry of Environment and Energy Security, Ministry of Enterprises, the Italian Trade & Investment Agency, and the European Commission, promises to unite over 100,000 attendees and feature 1,550 exhibitors from 120 countries, all focused on driving sustainable transformation across sectors.

Representing CESI on Ecomondo’s Scientific Committee, our colleague Daniele Cazzuffi will play an important role in guiding conversations around today’s most pressing environmental challenges. His conferences will address critical topics like flood and landslide risk reduction, advancing novel strategies for contaminated site remediation, and the latest in environmental monitoring technology.

Kicking off his sessions, Daniele will lead a discussion on mitigating landslide risks through early warning systems, featuring valuable insights from the General Director of Autostrada del Brennero. Another seminar will explore the complexities of flood management, diving into the design and functionality of reservoirs and retention basins. Contributors will include industry leaders such as Enel Green Power, the General Directorate of Dams, and Romagna Acque, who will offer perspectives on the regulatory, technical, and practical aspects of these infrastructures.

In his final presentation, Daniele will examine pioneering approaches to dredged sludge management and contamination remediation. This session will highlight cutting-edge geosynthetics engineering, with contributions from international academics and experts from specialized firms.
