Today, Tuesday, July 2nd, CESI had the honor of hosting H.E. Parviz Shahbazov, the Minister of Energy of Azerbaijan, along with H.E. Rashad Aslanov, the Ambassador of Azerbaijan. Accompanying them was a delegation of high-ranking officials from both the Ministry and the Azerbaijani energy authority. Representing CESI were CEO Nicola Melchiotti, Executive Vice Presidents of the Consulting and TIC Divisions, Gianluca Marini and Domenico Villani, respectively, and External Relations Director Paolo Chighine. Also present were Andrea Meola, Director of Business and Development, Bruno Cova, Advisory Services & Studies Director and Luca Migliorini, CESI project manager.

During the meeting, CESI presented its diverse activities, ranging from cutting-edge consultancy to state-of-the-art testing services. The delegation showed particular interest in the laboratory tours where they witnessed firsthand the testing processes. This visit provided an opportunity to delve deeper into the topic of electrical interconnection corridors, with attention given to the Caspian-Black Sea-Europe green energy corridor project. This initiative aims to harness renewable energy sources in Azerbaijan and export the green power to Europe via a subsea cable under the Black Sea. The project is a collaborative effort involving Azerbaijan, Georgia, Hungary, and Romania, with Bulgaria also expressing keen interest. Currently, the corridor is in the feasibility study phase, with CESI playing a pivotal role in this process.

Concluding the visit, discussions covered key topics for the upcoming COP29, which will be held in Baku this November. This meeting underscored the shared commitment to advancing sustainable energy solutions and fostering international cooperation.
