CESI donation to UNICEF and Buzzi Hospital

CESI donation to UNICEF and Buzzi Hospital
25 . Dec . 2021

For this holiday season CESI has implemented charity initiatives which aim to bring relief to those who are most in need, directed towards children.

Firstly, CESI decided to support the UNICEF’s project to vaccinate more than 5,000 children worldwide against measles and rubella. In a time where vaccines become more and more important for our daily lives, we chose to provide them for diseases that might not be much publicized, but that are still dangerous.

Moreover, CESI donated to Fondazione Buzzi, the Foundation of Buzzi Hospital, the so-called ‘Children’s Hospital’ in Milan, Italy, through three different initiatives. Firstly, we have financed several ‘spaceships’, ultra-technological wheelchairs to protect and comfortably carry children with cerebral palsy within the wards of the hospital, helping them from both a practical and a psychological perspective.

Furthermore, we have supported the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital, a national center of excellence. As the spots available in the unit are no longer enough, Buzzi needs to expand the spaces to respond to all requests for help (even from other hospitals) and save all the children, by doubling the number of children assisted, from 500 to 1,000 per year.

Finally, CESI collaborated with the initiative by Buzzi Hospital to provide aid to children from home. For those kids who cannot go the hospital, Buzzi Foundation has launched a pilot project aimed at 50 young patients who live in Milan. For them, the Foundation wants to ensure that the hospital reaches home, guaranteeing young patients to receive the most appropriate care free of charge, remaining in the warmth of their own home and in the affection of family members. The series of activities, which consists of a team made of nurses and physiotherapists who periodically go to the patient’s home, as well as the provision of a tablet through which families and children can communicate with the doctors and nurses of the Intensive Care Unit of the Buzzi hospital, is being backed up by our donation.

Giving a future to children in need is the best Christmas present we, at CESI, could ask for.

Happy Holidays!
