New webinar: Today, CESI and Elettricità Futura discuss the future of E-mobility in Italy

Today, October 20^th, E-mobility and Energy Transition: The sustainable mobility revolution, the new webinar organized by Elettricità Futura, in partnership with CESI, is taking place.

In this third instalment in the Technology Watch series of webinars, CESI and Elettricità Futura analyze the challenges and opportunities of E-mobility for the energy transition, together with the main Italian and European associations and operators in the sector.

Matteo Codazzi (CESI CEO) and Agostino Re Rebaudengo (Chairman of Elettricità futura) introduce the event, speaking about the importance of E-mobility for the energy transition in Italy. “The electrification of vehicles would greatly contribute to the drastic decarbonization of transport, reducing the production of greenhouse gases and dependence on oil,” says Matteo Codazzi. “In Italy, with a renewable share of around 37%, the emissions of an electric vehicle are 55% lower than those of fossil fuel vehicles over the entire life cycle,” adds the CESI CEO in his presentation of the event.

Following the introduction, Francesco Naso (Secretary General at MOTUS-E) speaks about the EV market, focusing on the current scenario to analyze the possible outcomes for the next years. Alessandro Bertani (Services & Smart Technologies Director at CESI) intervenes in order to discuss the role of charging infrastructure and smart charging. The CESI expert explains the prospective for the development and dissemination of the infrastructure at a national and international level, also reducing the so-called “range anxiety”; he, also, presents infrastructure as a tool for synergistically and intelligently managing the demand for energy on the grid.

Moreover, in the roundtable that takes place after the presentations of the above-mentioned experts, Michelangelo Aveta (Advisor – Electromobility & Energy Efficiency – Electrification Lead at Eurelectric), Federico Caleno (Head of E-Mobility Italy at Enel X), Fabio Pressi (CEO and Chairman at A2A E-Mobility) and Lorenzo Sessa (Innovative Products, Marketing and Commercial Communications Director at Iren Mercato S.p.A.), discuss about the key role that electric mobility could play in Italy’s energy transition.
