Milan, February 21, 2018 – Some days ago, the new edition of The Digital Energy Report has been presented at the Politecnico of Milan. CESI, together with other major companies and organizations, is one of the partners involved in the elaboration of the report. The document outlines the most important trends of the energy future, underlining the disrupting role of digitalization.
In fact, the report analyses the case of 15 Italian cities and 353 projects, in order to understand how Italy is moving towards energy innovation and what has yet to be done.
Although Italy is concretely moving towards this direction, only 5% of these projects are totally digital, with 47 million euro invested.
At the same time, the energy scenario is changing worldwide: on the one hand, distributed generation made possible to develop the new model of the prosumer, on the other hand several countries are trying to benefit from spreading both energy storage systems and electric mobility.
All these aspects are at the basis of the smart city of tomorrow and at the heart of the so called “smart-grid model”.
