CESI ON E-MOBILITY IN ITALY

CESI ON E-MOBILITY IN ITALY
11 . Apr . 2019

Rome, April 11 – CESI CEO, Matteo Codazzi has attended “Electric Mobility, let’s accelerate”, the first national event promoted by @Motus-E, the Italian association born to foster the transition towards electric mobility .
Codazzi has underlined that electric vehicles are the direction in which the market is already evolving because both they are the solution to drastically reduce CO2 emissions and thanks to their performances, already comparable to the other models.  According to Codazzi, at this stage it is important to make as smoother as possible their integration in the existing electricity grids. In this respect, if tomorrow 5 million e-vehicles were in the streets the energy demand would reach 20 TWh/year, equal to the pre-crisis level. This without building new fossil fuel power plants  but only making the most of the existing ones and in the meantime moving forward to renewables. Moreover, electric vehicles’ participation in the dispatching services market would entail net benefits of around € 150 million / year in 2030. CESI is already working with the sector’s new main players to help them to lead the transition.
