Saudi Arabia, 03/04/2018 – Cesi just finalized a strategic project in support of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and in line with Saudi Vision 2030 regarding rooftop solar photovoltaic systems. The Company, in partnership with the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC), was involved in different aspects, such as: preparation of detailed technical standards for connection of renewable energy sources with the distribution network of SEC, preparation of specific guidelines regarding connection, installation, maintenance, inspection, safety and environment but also for certification and registration of consultants and contractors. All these documents will contribute to a basis for a future smart grid architectural design to promote a reliable, flexible, efficient and sustainable power distribution network.
Cesi was also responsible for the creation of training programs for solar PV experts and for the employees of consultants and contractors. Moreover, it helped SEC’ staff in providing guidance about system impact studies, testing and commissioning activities, inspections and monitoring. Finally, the Company gave strategic advices about several aspects: from the definition of the suitable penetration of renewable energy sources in SEC distribution network to the proposal of a localization strategy to increase the local contribution in renewable energy value chain and technology, also calculating its financial impact .
