Milan, October 15, 2018 – CESI, together with VDP and AIS Engineering, has been selected by the Ministry for Energy and Water Management (MEW) of Malta for the Permitting & Environmental Impact Statement of the Malta-Italy Pipeline Interconnection. It will connect Malta to the Trans-European Gas Network through a natural gas pipeline, supplying natural gas to Malta for the generation of electricity and for the Maltese markets. In particular, CESI has been awarded for the provision of services, activities, documentation, and advisory services for the conclusion of the permitting process in Italy and Malta related to the implementation of the Malta-Sicily gas pipeline. The interconnection, with a supply capacity of 232,000S m3/hr, will be 159 km long and capable of operating in a bi-directional mode.
The project is part-financed by the European Union under the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) programme for 2014-2020.
