02 . Nov . 2026

CESI participated in two high-level meetings in Rome dedicated to energy cooperation between Italy and Kenya, reaffirming its commitment to supporting the development of a more resilient, efficient and sustainable electricity system in the East African country.

The initiatives included a bilateral meeting with a Kenyan institutional delegation hosted by UNDP Rome Centre on 26 October and the Kenya-Italy Energy Investment Roundtable, held at GSE on 27 October and promoted by RES4Africa Foundation in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum of Kenya, with the support of UNDP Rome Centre and the Italian Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security (MASE).

Representing CESI, Alessio Cipullo, Italy and EU Public Affairs Manager, highlighted the Group’s long-standing experience in Kenya and its expertise in strategic power system planning, feasibility studies, grid modernization and renewable energy integration. CESI has worked with key Kenyan stakeholders and sees significant opportunities to contribute to the country’s energy transition and network development goals.

The meetings provided an important opportunity to strengthen relationships with leading Kenyan institutional and energy-sector stakeholders and to explore potential areas for long-term cooperation. CESI reaffirmed its readiness to support Kenya through independent technical expertise, capacity building and project development across the electricity value chain, helping advance the country’s ambitions for a reliable, modern and increasingly integrated power system.
