Project implementation support for distribution rehabilitation project for two DISCOs in Kyrgyz Republic
The European Development Bank for Reconstruction (EBRD) is financing different distribution system operators in the Kyrgyz Republic with a programme that aims to:
- Upgrade and modernise low and medium voltage networks, much of which was built about 40 years ago
- Supply and install an automated system to protect distribution network and substations
- Install new network meters, smart meters and related hardware and software systems
The projects will improve the reliability of the power supply and significantly reduce technical and commercial losses. CESI provided organisational and technical assistance to two different DISCOs:
- Oshelectro – covering Osh and Batken regions in the south of Kyrgyzstan
- Vostokelectro – covering Tup and Jeti-Oghuz regions in the east of Kyrgyzstan
CESI’s activities included:

- Testing, commissioning and operational acceptance
