Consultancy services to develop a strategy for advanced metering infrastructure in the UAE
CESI helped the Abu Dhabi Distribution Company, ADDC, to identify the most suitable development strategy for the deployment of its smart metering infrastructure, a fundamental early step towards grid modernisation.
The study had the following primary aims:
- Analysis of vision and requirements for ADDC and other local stakeholders to implement a smart metering infrastructure
- To develop an analysis of the existing smart metering infrastructure of 400,000 electric and water meters
- To develop the analysis of the future landscape for smart metering infrastructure in the region
- To develop an analysis of the gaps between the existing and the future evolution of the smart metering infrastructure and related IT systems
- Preparation of a business case illustrating the feasibility and profitability of smart metering infrastructure and related IT systems
- Development of guidelines for the roll-out of smart metering infrastructure and IT systems
- To assist ADDC in preparing a high-level scope of work for the next phase of the project
