On 1st of August, CESI hosted the board meeting of the Black Sea Submarine Cable (BSSC) project Feasibility Study.
This initiative features an HVDC system connecting Georgia and Romania via the Black Sea with about 1100 km of 525kV submarine cable line that aims at boosting the South Caucasus Countries’ economies by enabling energy exports to Romania and Southeastern Europe.
The meeting’s main agenda was to present the final outcomes of the Black Sea Submarine Cable Feasibility Study with all stakeholders. Specifically, the results of three important tasks have been presented and discussed, namely the Power System Studies the Economic and Financial Analysis. Attendees included GSE (Georgian TSO), Transelectrica (Romanian TSO), AzerEnerji (Azerbaijani TSO), MVM & Mavir (Hungarian Electricity Companies), and The World Bank, which supports the project.
Key CESI colleagues instrumental to the project’s success include Stefano Malgarotti and Alessandro Crippa who had been coordinating a team of 25 experts for more than two years to successfully complete this complex Feasibility Study.
