Operational studies and owner’s engineer service for synchronization of WAPP interconnected system (130-230-400 kV)
CESI is the technical consultant to the national electricity companies in the West Africa power Pool (WAPP), helping them to improve the exchange of electricity among countries in West Africa (Senegal, Mali, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo, Benin, Nigeria, Burkina Faso and Niger and Mauritania).
The project, entirely financed by the World Bank, represents an important milestone for fostering regional electricity trading.
CESI’s consultancy services include :
Performing static and dynamic system simulations in order to optimize equipment settings
Proposing adaptations to the operating rules for a reliable joint system operation
Developing and implementing a complete package of procurement services
Supervising supply, installation and commissioning of equipment
Assisting the synchronization operation
CESI will also undertake a study to support the development of an ancillary services market within WAPP’s unified wholesale electricity market.
