Revision of the GCC Interconnection Authority scope of operational studies for the GCC interconnected grid and electricity trade opportunities among GCCIA Countries
The Gulf Co-operation Council Interconnection Authority (GCCIA) has built a 400kV super grid that connects the electrical power networks of the Arabian Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC) countries of Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) enabling electrical energy exchange and emergency support among these countries.
CESI was asked to perform operational studies aimed at supplying recommendations for the secure operation of this combined system in normal and emergency conditions, considering two different time scenarios.
