Masterplan to modernise the Uzbek electrical distribution network .
The Uzbek power System Operator (Uzbekenergo) selected CESI to prepare a methodology for optimising and modernising the distribution network, taking into account technical and environmental constraints.
The project consisted of selecting the basic design criteria for the development of new MV/LV distribution networks, preparing a feasibility study for the creation of new MV/LV distribution networks and proposing technical specifications for key equipment to be installed.
CESI conducted a number of site visits to assess the existing state of the power distribution infrastructure, analysed current and future demand (over 10 and 20 year timeframes) and verified that existing networks were compatible with the installation of smart electricity meters. We also analysed the requirements for connecting new renewable generating capacity to the network and calculated the costs of network modernisation.
