The Lithuanian government wants to increase the share of production of renewable energy resources in the total balance of electricity consumption. To achieve this, in 2023 it is planned to organize tenders for authorisations of the use of the Lithuanian maritime area for the development and operation of offshore wind farms (OWF). In this context CESI was contracted to perform the study on the implementation of the infrastructure to connect the offshore substation (OSS) to the onshore transmission grid and design the technical specification for this connection, in order to help the client to be prepared for the first call for tenders.
