Feasibility study at the Termozipa power plant

Feasibility study and basic design project for coal ash remediation at the Termozipa power plant in Colombia.

CESI was selected by Emgesa Colombia to carry out environmental remediation activities at the Termozipa power station, which is located near the Bogotá river. Emgesa planned a significant environmental improvement project to remove and remediate the wet ash park and , build dry ash collection systems (silos). CESI developed a programme to investigate the subsoil conditions in collaboration with local drilling companies and environmental engineers, and carried out a feasibility study for closing the entire ash park, which involved removing the ash from the banks of the Rio Bogota and creating a green area. The new ash park will be very small, with an area of one hectare and will be able to accommodate only 10,000 tons of ash, which will be used for emergencies and filling silos.
