KEMA Labs Sparks Change in Southeast Asia

KEMA Labs Sparks Change in Southeast Asia
29 . Sep . 2025

Over the past two weeks, KEMA Labs has taken center stage in Southeast Asia, turning technical workshops into a platform for transformation. Far from being routine sessions, they became moments where utilities could experience how independent type testing makes a real difference—not just in compliance, but in building trust in the energy systems of tomorrow.

More than 125 professionals from engineering, standards, and project departments took part. Instead of passively listening, they developed practical skills to challenge suppliers’ documentation and confidently reject non-compliant submissions. The message was clear: testing is not a formality—it is a safeguard for reliability and safety.

From short-circuit testing and international standards for circuit breakers to KEMA Labs’ leadership in transformer testing, the sessions showcased how our expertise actively shapes global practices. Each workshop began with an introduction to CESI Group and KEMA Labs’ worldwide capabilities, followed by open dialogue with leading utilities: MEA, PEA, and EGAT in Thailand; EVN SPC and EVN NPC in Vietnam; and TNB in Malaysia.

The program was led by Shankar Subramany, Director T&I, and Carlo Matarasso, Regional Sales Manager, whose knowledge and energy sparked lively exchanges. Equally important was the contribution of our local representatives—Mr. Srirattanapochai in Thailand, Mr. Dung in Vietnam, and Mr. Zul in Malaysia—whose insights and coordination ensured seamless execution in every country.

This successful tour demonstrated that when global know-how meets local commitment, KEMA Labs is not only delivering tests—it is shaping standards, building confidence, and opening doors to stronger partnerships across Southeast Asia.
