EuroAsia Interconnector is a European Project of Common Interest (PCI) aimed at linking Israel, Cyprus and Greece with a 2000 MW 400/500 kV HVDC sub-sea cable. Cyprus is the only EU Member States still isolated from the rest of the Union, both for national grid and electricity infrastructures. After the pre-feasibility study carried out by CESI, the Client requested a Cost Benefit Analysis (CBA) fully compliant with the more recent guidelines set by ENTSO-E and with the related recommendations adopted by the Agency for Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER). The aim of CBA is to obtain and maintain the status of PCI and provide economic input for the cross-border cost allocation analysis (CBCA).
