The ITAIPU dam represents one of the bigger existing water-systems for the production of energy in the whole world. Consequently it is very important to have on-line all the measures of the tools used to detect the dam's structural performance.
What we have done
ADAS, the monitoring system realized by CESI, consists in 300 measuring sensors, 24 acquisition data units and 2 data management centers. Furthermore, ADAS is equipped by a system of support for real-time decisions (MISTRAL) and detailed analysis' system for off-line measures (MIDAS).
The system allows Itaipu's engineers to automatically get all necessary data for the control of the dam's structural behavior . Thanks to the system of support for real-time decisions, if an anomaly is detected, it is immediately possible to activate proper actions to carry out the appropriate on site check and test.
